Report Addresses Runaway and Homeless LGBTQ Youth

The Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families (ACF) has released the report Identifying and Serving LGBTQ Youth: Case Studies of Runaway and Homeless Youth Program Grantees. This report highlights findings from case studies of four agencies receiving grants from the ACF Family and Youth Services Bureau's Runaway and Homeless Youth Program, which supports street outreach, emergency shelters, and longer-term transitional living and maternity group home programs for young people.

The study identifies strategies and challenges in identifying and serving lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) runaway and homeless youth, data collection and assessment issues for this population, and gaps in research and services.
