Effectively Engaging Tribes: Effective Strategies for Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention Engagement with Tribes

The FRIENDS National Resource Center on Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention (CBCAP) recently released this new online learning course, which is available free of charge via their Online Learning Center. Narrated by American Indians, this interactive course is designed to provide users with information and resources on the historical experiences of the tribes, its impact on children and families, and the importance of engaging tribes in your work.

It features the following four modules: (1) Understanding and Recognition of the Effects of Historical Trauma; (2) The Prevalence of Child Abuse and Neglect for American Indian and Alaska Native Children; (3) Engagement Opportunities and Benefits for Tribes and CBCAP State Lead Agencies; and (4) Strategies for Successful Engagement and Overcoming Barriers.
