This training will provide in-depth discussion of topics relevant for providing developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive, care for children involved with the child welfare system.
- Participants will understand the basic concepts of power and control in intimate partner relationships.
- Participants will be able to differentiate between tolerable and toxic stress and the impact that this has on child development.
- Participants will understand ways that exposure to domestic violence impacts child behavior.
- Participants will learn parenting skills to support children in their recovery from exposure to domestic violence.

Upon successful completion of training, participants will receive 1.75 General Social Work CEUs and Foster Parent for training credit.
Things to Know:
- Learners will complete the pre/post-test and evaluation electronically through the LCWTA eLearning Management system. Google Chrome as a default browser is preferable.
- Learners are expected to arrive on time and participate fully throughout the course. Arrival and departure times will be electronically recorded in the LCWTA eLearning
- Management System. Learners who arrive more than 30 minutes late will not be admitted.
Credit for courses will be given only to those who complete the entire course. If a learner must leave a class early, the learner will not receive credit for the course.
