Children and youth in foster care represent one of the most vulnerable student subgroups in the country. Studies find that children in foster care are much more likely to struggle academically and fall behind in school than their peers. As the 2023-2024 school year begins, let us gain a deeper understanding if the services available to school-age children involved in the child welfare system. This CIP Cafe’ will provide information about federal and state education laws, regulations, and mandates. Participants will learn about Exceptional Student Services and how to request these services.
