NGA Child and Family Well-Being Governors’ Summit

The Child and Family Well-being Learning Cohort is hosted by the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices in collaboration with Casey Family Programs. For the past 8 months, this network of governor’s offices, state human services executives, child welfare leaders, and education leaders have coordinated strategic solutions for prevention of child abuse and neglect and promotion of child and family well-being. Participating cohort states include Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawai’i, Iowa, Kansas, New York, Utah, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Please join us as we celebrate these states innovative practices and solutions for supporting children and families. The Summit will entail presentations from 6 states on their tactical approaches to improving child and family well-being, and will include discussions on championing child welfare legislation, designing mental health apps and tools, and identifying underserved populations through novel data metrics. These presentations will be followed by a panel conversation with governors’ policy advisors on levers and opportunities for supporting children and families at the state level.
