Please join CWLA for a webinar that will feature a presentation by the guest editors of the recently released special issue of Child Welfare, Promotion of Latino and Hispanic Child and Family Well-Being. This special issue journal examines the well-being of Latino and Hispanic children in those families that are the subjects of increased stereotypes, biases, and discrimination affecting their communities and resulting in impediments to their basic human rights. There remains a disproportionate representation of Latino and Hispanic children and youth affected by the social conditions in which they are born, grow, live, work, and age across the United States and Puerto Rico. The editors will talk about the timeliness and importance of the special issue and the key practice, policy, and research recommendations shared in the issue.
Presenters: Robert Ortega, Associate Professor of Social Work and MSW Program Director, School of Social Work, University of Michigan and Maria L. Quintanilla, Founder and Executive Director, Latino Family Institute.
