Creating Meaningful Change
2024 National Conference
April 17-19, 2024 in Washington, DC
Join us for the next Intergenerational Housing Learning Network meeting to learn more about intergenerational housing. We will dive deeper into the fascinating world of intergenerational housing and learn firsthand about the groundbreaking discussions and innovative strategies unveiled at the recent national symposium on intergenerational housing convened by Generations United and our partners, Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing and Aging Society Program and Leading Age, LTSS Center @UMASS Boston. The symposium was a rare opportunity to bring a small group of leaders in housing, aging, healthcare, and social service industries, policy experts, researchers, and advocates together with the goal of creating a national Blueprint for Intergenerational Housing. As we gear up for what lies ahead, learn how you can be involved in the next steps toward realizing our bold vision of a unified agenda for intergenerational housing.
We will also hear from Natalie Gomez, at New Life Village Community of Caring, who will tell us about the residential community where families seeking permanency for children impacted by foster care or trauma can seek healing in a safe and stable intergenerational Village. Natalie oversees the strategy and implementation of New Life Village’s onsite Trauma Informed Wellness, Resilience & Character Development Program. Upon welcoming residents to the Village, Natalie works to ensure all residents are connected to the requested resources and supports needed to experience safety, stability, healing, and growth. In partnership with NLV residents, the community, and her amazing team, Natalie strives to foster a culture that encourages community, volunteerism, and organic, healthy relationships.
Don’t miss this chance to be part of the conversation shaping the future of intergenerational housing for generations to come! If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Ilonka Walker at iwalker@gu.org
