The History and Healing of American Indian Kids and Families

In this episode of CaseyCast, Casey Foundation President and CEO Lisa Hamilton interviews William Thorne Jr., who worked as a tribal court judge in 12 states, a trial judge for the state of Utah, and a judge on the Utah Court of Appeals before retiring in 2013.
Judge Thorne is a member of the Pomo and Coast Miwok Indian tribes, and a leading expert on policies and programs that support children and families — particularly Native American children and families. He has served on the board of numerous organizations, including the National Resource Center for Tribes, the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, Child Trends and the Center for the Study of Social Policy.
