A New Horizon: Moving Family First Forward. DCFS Annual Report. October 2020 [Arkansas]

Over the last year, the Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) continued the work it started in 2016 to move the State’s child welfare and foster care system forward, becoming one of the first states to implement the landmark federal Family First Prevention Services Act. More commonly known as Family First, it is the first major federal child welfare reform effort in decades and impacts every piece of the child welfare system. We recognized the new law aligned with what was already happening in Arkansas and in our report last year called Family First Fits Us, we highlighted the work done to prepare for implementation on Oct. 1, 2019. Arkansas Division of Children and Family Services. 2020  CLICK HERE
