The Homestudy Assessment Process

For all prospective foster and adoptive parents, the homestudy assessment process bears with it great importance, regardless of the applicant's gender or sexual orientation. However, LGBT prospective foster and adoptive parents encounter unique issues during this process. Consequently, it is important for child welfare agencies to understand and establish best practice standards when managing applications from LGBT prospective parents.
