2022 Handle With Care Conference

In-person and Virtual Conference starts Wednesday, October 12th at 10:00 a.m. and ends Friday, October 14th at 1:00 p.m. at the Charleston Civic Center, Charleston, WV
The West Virginia Center for Children’s Justice Handle with Care Conference will focus on a trauma informed response to child maltreatment and children’s exposure to violence.
“Our goal is to provide you with current information to better help you serve those in our communities who experience child abuse neglect and violence,” said Andrea Darr, director, West Virginia Center for Children’s Justice for the West Virginia State Police, Crimes Against Children Unit and conference planner.

According to Darr, there will be three plenaries, 42 breakout sessions and over 50 presenters for the national conference, and Continuing Education  Credits are being requested for 14.5 hours for:

  • Nursing
  • Addiction and Prevention
  • Domestic Violence Advocates
  • Emergency Medical Services workers

Registration: $175 per person
(Includes access to recorded sessions for six months)
Exhibitor Fees: $100 per booth
Room blocks are being held with the prevailing government
rate of $109 at Marriott Town Center, Courtyard
by Marriott Downtown, Embassy Suites,
Hampton Inn, and Four Points.
