NCCPR has updated its interactive database on foster care placements. The database shows the proportion of children in each type of “care” (kinship foster care, foster care with strangers, group homes and institutions, etc.) in 2009 and 2010. Data are available state-by-state and ranked. Maps show at a glance which states are doing relatively well and which are doing particularly badly.
There’s also a graphic showing changes in total foster care population for every state. It’s available at http://www.nccprgraphics.blogspot.com/
