Introduction
At the direction of House Concurrent Resolution 74 passed by the 2003 Legislature, The Department of Children and Family Services publishes The Annual Foster Care and Adoption Management Report. This report details activities in the areas of foster care and adoption in State Fiscal Year 2024 and compares the results to a five-year running average. Data are provided at the state and regional level and by age group, where appropriate and available.
The data used in this report is extracted from the Tracking, Information, and Payment System of the department. Data is derived based on the date the event occurred to allow for consistency with historical review. As a result, these numbers may vary from numbers reported into the Louisiana Performance Accountability System (LaPAS) and other data reported by the Department.
